The State of Orphanages in India

There are many orphanages across India that seek to protect underprivileged and vulnerable children from all kinds of physical and mental harm. Orphanages are supposed to ensure the safety of the children under their care. Unfortunately, that is not the case across most orphanages in India. Although they may seem perfectly safe from the outside, orphanages in India often conceals terrible acts of exploitation against children. This is terrible considering that orphanages are supposed to be safe spaces for children in need of protection and support. Young homeless children are left entirely to the mercy of the caretakers.
